Martin is the founder of MP Personal Training. He has been in the fitness industry for fifteen years now and still enjoys it as much today as he did on day one. During this time he has matured and with it enhanced his training knowledge and the ability to motivate clients, allowing them to push harder than they thought possible through the use of his NLP skills, life experience and good old fashioned trial and error.
Over the years he has had the pleasure of working with some great people and been involved in some exciting projects.
Some of the highlights include being asked to attend the FIA HQ in London to be part of an FIA brainstorm committee, formed to discuss the future training and marketing for the older generation. He has also taught a display session at the Birmingham NEC during Leisure Industry Week.
More recently he was a named sponsor for the largest indoor cycling event in the UK, which raised over £9000 for Cancer Research UK.
One of his biggest passions within the industry is the development and training of the older generation. The way Martin looks at the ‘older generation’ is that we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them, so why not help them to enjoy their lives and families for as long as possible? For this reason he is a senior instructor for an over 50s health, fitness and social group based in Hove called Forever-Fit, which allows him to help them to do just that.
Other than the occasional writing of editorials for local health & fitness magazines and practicing what he preaches within the gym, Martin enjoys spending time with his three children. With a son who has just completed university and two daughters sub five years old, he really has his hands full, which is why he has chosen not to offer any training sessions at the weekends, so he provide them with dedicated family time. Then, when time allows, he likes to escape into his own little world and get out on his bike. As a keen cyclist, being family oriented and an owner of a few businesses, Martin knows the importance of helping others to achieve (or get close to) that sort after work life balance.
So to get the best from yourself, not only for you but for those around you too, it is definitely the time to moving..
