Before joining the gym I was feeling sluggish and even struggled to bend down to pick leaflets up. Since joining Forever Fit over 2 years ago, I’ve lost at least 2 inches from around my waist just through exercise. I have more energy and especially enjoy the social side of the Forever Fit group.

I joined Forever Fit three years ago, somewhat reluctantly, as i had never been a great fan of physical exercise!
However, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the friendship of the group and I have benefited hugely from the classes in terms of my personal fitness. I have lost over a stone in weight, my arms and legs are much stronger.
I recently walked seven miles in France, I can spend the day gardening without an aching back at the end of it and I generally feel much healthier.

I wonder why i didn’t come sooner!
I thought long and hard before trying a workout with a personal trainer, we had talked about it for some time but I was not sure how much I would benefit from it. I can now say how glad I am that I took the decision to give it a try, I have really enjoyed myself and have achieved more than I thought I would. Martin you have always made me work to my full potential but have never pushed me further than it was safe for me to go.
We have worked on my whole body with the result that I now have firmer upper arms and stronger legs, my breathing and posture have improved also. My tummy is now a little firmer and my clothes fit me much better, so I hope over the coming months things will continue to improve.

I chose to start training with MP Personal Training, as i needed a little help with focusing on my workouts. I'm glad I did as Martin keeps me motivated, and the results have been very positive - my overall strength has increased significantly, as we are constantly beating personal bests. In January, my partner Jimi and I were brave (or crazy) enough to enter into the Oxfam Trailwalker this year.
Trailwalker is an Ultra Marathon - that means we have to walk 64 miles in less than 30 hours (with no sleep).
We had started light training in January, and by March I knew I had to do something drastic if I was to be able to finish as my ankles and knees were not strong enough for such a huge challenge.
We started seeing Martin every fortnight and as well as completing the Trailwalker in 26 hours and 44 minutes, I have lost over a stone in weight and Jimi has lost nearly 2 stone!
The biggest change since we started seeing Martin is the motivation we now have, I find myself wanting to go to the gym and wanting to exercise - a virtuous circle - the more work you do, the fitter you are and the more you can do!

After moving South from Wales, living in a hotel for 4 months and comfort eating as a hobby, I decided to do something about it. I hated the gym, and to be honest I still do but I knew this was the only answer if I was to get back in shape. So I found MP Personal Training on line and gave the number a call.
On meeting Martin I knew that even though I'd never like the gym, I would get fit there, lose weight and have a giggle at the same time. Martin put in place a plan that varied week by week covering mainly cardio and core work, stepping up the intensity every time I thought I was getting somewhere!!!
In total I lost 30lb, but more importantly I got fit, had fun doing it and made a good friend. I was gutted to leave Martin when I moved to London and must confess my new PT is a bit dull.

I have been training at Fit For All with Martin since November last year and he has been fantastic.
Starting from scratch, Martin has set and regularly reviewed my workout programme to keep thing interesting and to work around a minor injury to my back. Importantly he has listened to what I want to achieve and helped me to work towards those goals.
Martin is patient in explaining each element of the workout and what it will achieve, as well as giving clear advice on technique and posture to avoid injuries.
I am really pleased with the results so far and I remain motivated thanks to realistic targets and friendly encouragement from Martin.

Looking back I think I’ve been stuck in a rut and haven’t really left my fitness comfort zone for a while now.
Having had some personal training sessions with Martin I have found his methods and support have really helped give me a ‘kick-start’ with a fresh approach and, for the first time in ages I’m setting myself new goals. I would highly recommend him.
Now I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it LOL, although I did enjoy doing some at work as it didn’t seem so much like exercise then.
It was easy to follow and I liked the fact that I could easily fit it in as part of my daily routine.
I did struggle a bit mostly with the lay-stand as I felt it took me too long to get to standing, but did get easier the more I practiced.
I was fairly happy with the results I got, as I lost 15cm in total but I would have maybe liked to have lost a bit more.
I am actually contemplating doing it again for my holiday, and yes I would recommend the 28 day challenge to anyone wanting to give themselves a push.
I started training with Martin in order to find a way to maintain my aerobic fitness while my knee was healing from an injury sustained from running. Martin, listened to me and to what i hoped to achieve over the next few months. Taking into account my knee injury he devised a programme of non-impact exercises to help strengthen my knees and core muscles. Over the next few months he carefully monitored my progress and changed the exercises as i grew stronger and more confident in my capabilities. The net result is that I have not only returned to running but I have renewed energy and strength together with more confidence in my chosen sport.
I would recommend training, for the professional way i have been treated.

I’ve seen the effort and results of Martin and his work. He always puts in 100% and will go the extra mile to help clients achieve their goal. There are few people I know that are as committed and still enjoy their job. Even with the seriousness of the sessions you are always guaranteed to have a laugh doing it. You’ll get as much out of these sessions as your willing to put in.
He’ll definitely give the confidence and motivation to overcome those hills ’n’ mountains alike.

Before I started my 28 day challenge I had been trying to lose weight and had been doing long walks and eating well. I was getting to the point when I was in a rut, then MP Personal Trainings challenge appeared on my FaceBook news feed and I thought I'd give it a go...
I got my training schedule and was shocked at the amount of exercise!
I had never done that amount before so I was quite nervous about completing it as I am normally really bad at finishing things... but once I started I loved it!
I think I lost about 5cms off my waist in the first week alone, which helped as it was all I needed to keep going. I stuck to the terms and schedule religiously and thoroughly enjoyed it!
By the end of the 28 days I ended up losing 41cm!
I would def do it again and I would most certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to tone up and push themselves!
Over the past few months Martin has helped me to achieve levels of fitness I would never have achieved working alone. My stamina has improved and my muscle strength has exceeded even what I’d hoped for. Triceps, biceps, lats, the lot! I have worked constantly on the programme Martin provided for me for me and I have made genuinely delighted with the progress I have made.

I have long suffered knee problems due to collapsed arches in my feet. By the time I was 20 I couldn’t stand up for any longer than half an hour. For someone my age I felt I had knees of an old lady! Doctors suggested that the only solution was to wear insoles for the rest of my life which would cost quite a lot over time.
I met Martin at the gym and he helped me greatly with my knee problem. He showed me exercises to strengthen the muscles that support my knees, and repositioning exercises that I could do at home. I’m thrilled to say that the pain has finally gone! I can even start running again, and at 24 years old, I finally feel my age!
I asked Martin to help me as I was in a pretty bad state not being able to do any exercise without getting out of breath. My confidence was very low and at that point I didn’t like any exercise but knew I had to do something and was told by my doctor to exercise to reduce my Blood Pressure.
Martin is one of the most motivating people I have ever met, he has and still is changing my life with the exercise programme he takes me through, and I even look forward to training, as he changes it around so I don’t get bored.
I’ve lost so far 5 inches mostly from my middle just were us ladies want to loose it.

I first met Martin after a recurring injury on my knee prevented me from my regular workout. Martin was incredibly thorough in diagnosing the problem and explaining it in a way that I could understand (no complicated lingo!). He changed my workout by adding simple stretches and techniques, teaching me to listen to my body rather than ignoring it!
During my initial meeting with Martin I mentioned a problem I have suffered with since I was about 13 concerning pelvic pains. After various appointments with surgeons and doctors and several operations later I still had no idea what was wrong, so decided it was easier to live with it than undergo more surgery!
Martin suggested that it could be muscular and showed me some stretches that could ease the pain, I was so shocked that it had worked I was speechless (a rare occurrence!).
After just half an hour with Martin, I had been shown such simple techniques that I could do at home to help my knees and my pelvic pains and I have seen dramatic results. With the changes I have made I even ran the Race for Life in 36 minutes with no pain and no dodgy knees!

I would urge anyone who has ever thought of joining a gym to come and see our group. Not only does it keep us all fit, but we also have a good social life as well, with different activities outside the gym such as walks, meals and various other entertainments.
I am absolutely delighted to have had the opportunity for personal training with Martin Petrie. He helped me get rid of Achilles tendon pain which I'd had for months and put together an exercise program that was compact but really felt effective!
